Wildfire Sentinel is São Tomás’s fire engine: the same one running inside Risk360, licensed separately. A detected hotspot is not information until someone answers three things — how far from what matters to me, where it is heading, and what lies in its path.

From hotspot to alert, in three steps

  1. 1

    Detect · buffer and context

A hotspot inside the buffer becomes a tracked point; wider detection gives the front’s direction.

  2. 2

    Project · every 20 minutes

Fire Path remodels where the fire travels, telling head from flanks.

  3. 3

The alarm carries the asset name, the distance in metres and the hours until the fire arrives.

How the engine works

10 days

Risk horizon

A fire risk index projected over the forecast, so brigade sizing and activity restrictions can be decided before the critical week.

The alert gives the name, the distance and the hours

Every alarm carries the threatened asset identified, the distance from the fire to it in metres, and an estimate of how many hours are left before it arrives. That is the difference between “there is fire in the region” and “three hours until it reaches this line”.

See detail

The asset is named the way the client’s registry names it: transmission line, railway code, highway SNV code, base station.

The asset type decides the reading

A transmission line, a highway, a railway, a pipeline and a base station do not face the same risk from the same hotspot. The type of threatened asset selects the alert’s vocabulary and criteria, and comes with the land cover at the hotspot itself.

A Risk360 engine, also licensed separately. Cross-referencing against assets depends on the client’s registry — that is part of the project scope.

Who it is for

Power transmission and distribution, where fire under a line is a classic cause of outages; agribusiness, rail and highway operators with a right-of-way to defend; and civil defence sizing its response.
